THE collection!!!

FAUSTO SARLI: one of the most creative stylist of our times and one of the most prestigous names of Rome's high fashion trade. Born in Naples, Sarli abandoned his course of business studies to dedicate himself to fashion. He gained experience and ability at such prestigious fashion houses as Schubert and De Luca before setting up his own atelier in Naples at the end of the 50's.

His collection for Fall Winter 2010-11 is absolutely gorgeous and I'm happy to share it with you because I'm sooo in love with it that I can't even choose my favorite piece!! <3

*The first part of the collection is based on the contrast between opaque and lustrous. Cachemire jackets and coats are covered with geometrical leather plaques having a metallic sheen.
Cocktail dresses have outstanding contours and with the use of “duchesse satin” they are transformed into ellipses, cones and circles.

*For evening wear the idea of cubism is transferred on a leather dress where intersecting lines with a “vertigo” effect brings to memory famous Picasso portraits. The same idea is found in a satin dress with lacquered plastic weaving which reminds us of Braque’s “still life”. Colours like deep red, brown, ochre, violet and the unfailing black and white are used to exalt the geometrical abstraction of the lines.

*The final presents a bride who appears to defy the world only with the power of beauty.
